If you look at the recruiting ranking in ON3 and 247, LSU is 16 in both. This not up to the standard we normally see for LSU recruiting. After last years 10 win season you would think we would be in better shape than this. Hopefully another good season this year will trend things going back toward top 5 - 7 classes.
Product of in state being a little lighter on talent than normal years and having the two highest rated kids in state committed elsewhere. I’m sticking with the notion that if we do really well this season and some of our competitors stub their toe, we’re set up to flip a few kids and climb in the rankings.
That would be ideal. Maybe Texas and Florida crap the bed this year and we can get Simmons and Mack to flip. I doubt it though. It seems to be all about the money for these kids nowadays.
No, just take your purple and gold glasses off for a minute and see that this years class is not up to par. Hopefully it’s not a trend is all I’m saying.
I believe we're 11th in comparison after I took out all kickers in the top 15, so your calculations are incorrect. And 6 thru 12 are miniscules apart. Basically equal so your melt is unfounded. 6 thru 12 are all around 91.00 - 91.70. We're around 91.11 & basically equal to the #6 class because you're talking about a few guys opinions on the top 300 players. Who says they're right or wrong. 6-12 are basically interchangeable.
Most aren’t going to want to hear it but let’s see the season play out. Variables across the board. Appears LSU is willing to pay for proven defensive lineman talent. Hard to recruit without Lindsey. Woody is prepared to spend.
Who is that you're trying to convince? Him or yourself? Using manipulation to frame your opinion as more valid than his is amatuer hour. Little defensive are we? His work can be shown for all the world to see(it in fact is on 2 different services). Can yours?
Man a few players at the right positions completely changes the trajectory of this class. LSU lands a couple of top 15 DTs and DEs this class would be considered a success when it all ends.
If we keep putting a good product on the field, we’ll get the recruits we want. All those 3 stars not looking too bad after learning how to play together. We’re putting some good tape out there to show these recruits that this program and this staff knows how to develop players and put them in positions to show their talent on national TV.
If we keep growing and the other teams continue to struggle or not able to show growth then we need to capitalize on that. Other teams sure as hell do. Do whatever you need to get into their ears and convince them that we’re the team on the upward trajectory.
This is the place to come have a blast while playing with the best, winning championships and develop into a pro while here. Let’s do something no one’s done before and build an intimidating Tiger dynasty here. With the tough Louisiana boys you get to play with, it’s easy to dominate and have a blast doing it. Go get ‘em.
Not trying to convince anyone of anything, just stating facts. You can spin it anyway you want. Taking out punters, LSU is 11th going by composite #'s on both 247 & on3, not 16th, and I maintain my point that 6-12 are just fractions off of some guys opinions, who happen to be right or wrong a lot. Just making his glass more half full than half empty. I'm not even saying 11 is that great because I see the DL deficiencies just like you, just giving a more accurate view to OP. Surely the staff doesn't need me trying to defend anything
