That would be bad for us, because you only start a true freshman if things have gone badly. You always want(even a truly gifted QB) to sit and watch the first year and learn.

no. Sheppard is not going to be used exclusively at QB.

Sheppard is a special player. He is a true game changer. He will be a better college QB that Vick. But, I would not count my chickens before they hatch. After this season, I would not be surprised if he changed his commitment.

What in the past 4 years makes anyone think LM would start talent over experience?

Fom the clips I've seen, there is no way that Sheppard throws the ball better than JJ

Presumptively both freshmen QBs will redshirt.

Open the QB competition between Hatch, Lee and Jefferson, with the idea that we will play all three during the season. Hatch is dual-threat, Lee is a pocket passer, and Jefferson is a borderline dual-threat. I don't want to see a game where a QB runs the ball 20 times, but if that happens in the next few years, I want that QB to be Russell Shepard.

Hatch was solid, but limited. I feel there's no upside, and he was a Ryan Perrilloux insurance policy, so to speak. Lee and Jefferson both showed flashes of ability this year that, if they both develop, we can force defenses to prepare for two QBs. Here is how they differ:

Lee has a very quick release, and is great for the three-step drops to slants, quick outs, and even some corner routes. Jefferson has a long windup, but is (generally) more accurate and I feel has better long ball accuracy. Plus, move the pocket with Jefferson, and while not a traditional "running QB", certainly has shown athleticism to run draws and perhaps a more robust option game than we showed this year. I would like Crowton to start inserting options with Hatch and Shepard, and force teams to prepare, not only for multiple QBs, but for completely different offenses.

Maybe run a series every quarter out of the triple option (it's working, somewhat at Georgia Tech)? Anything to generate some excitement and offensive production.
