I 5hink one of the biggest problem in Criminal Justice today are these plea deals. The plea deal process needs to be revised so that the original charges are left on the record and able to be used against the criminal if they commit future crimes and be used for determining future parole, probation, commutation.
The reason why is because serious crimes get reduced to much less serious crimes and future actions become based on those much less serious crimes. For instance, a person is charged with drug dealing and weapons charges. The plea deal is down to possession of narcotics, then later they release them early or commute sentences based on the low level charge of possession which does not reflect the seriousness or violent threat the person really is.

Secession to St. George is only way to cut out her money to steal.

Should’ve told them to take their time, they could pick the corpse up at their earliest convenience.

Let it be known, we have a zero-tolerance policy for lawlessness and any form of dangerous activity within our community.
So what’s she’s admitting is that she and BRPD are too damned incompetent to stop any of it.
There’s no other option.

Did they call it out? Were they openly critical of it?
Does the mayor hold press conferences blasting lenient DA's and judges?
Do their actions mirror their words that they are intolerant of crime and violence?
If not, then frick them. Silence is violence, as they say.

That’s the district attorney, not the mayor. Somehow though, that guy keeps getting elected too. Wonder why.

Shop owner likely supports and votes all these folks in.

until effective leadership returns to New Orleans and Baton Rouge and crime and lawlessness is reigned in, both cities are in bad shape
you may think it's in isolated areas but it's not
when you have a carjacking in new orleans that killed that lady in broad daylight in an area that is not known for that type of violence it's bad!
when you have crime in areas of Baton Rouge that are usually pretty safe to be in it's bad!

Imagine you’re a deer. You’re prancing along. You get thirsty. You spot a little brook. You put your little deer lips down to the cool, clear water. BAM! A frickin’ bullet rips off part of your head! Your brains are laying on the ground in little bloody pieces!
Now I ask you: Would you give a frick what kind of pants the son of a bitch who shot you was wearing?!

That’s the main issue with New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Keep these fricking criminals in prison.
Because he’s a bad shot, he gets off with no punishment? He shot someone 5 fricking times…should’ve been serving a life sentence in Angola.

The court can already see what you were booked on, arraigned on, etc. Immigration authorities in foreign countries can see that, from personal experience.
The DA can choose to treat you like a BLM arsonist, or a J6 sightseer, regardless of your history.

"Those gunshots weren't sidelined to one race of people?"
Um, they most certainly were. Not many honkies I know unloading a Draco pistol clip at 3am in downtown BR.
