Now I need all the republicans to tell me why he is really an establishment/leftist/whatever plant/operative

He is a great Sheriff and worked his way up from corrections to the top. My wife works for JSO and loves working for him. Solid Republican too.

Long time ago, journalists were polled on their attitude towards gun-control, not surprisingly over 80% were in favor of strong gun-control laws. I'm sure in the decades since those numbers are better than 90%.
