Timing for waivers as of current is Tuesday to Thursday 8/29-8/31. Any questions or travel suggestions feel free to post in this thread

Flying SHV to MCO on the 1st for a weekend at universal and LSU game. Hoping it’s no biggie and cleared out by then.

Keep an eye on how bad things get, Orlando is going to be on the east side of this but as of current wind speeds are only estimated at 23mph Tuesday night. May increase though by tomorrow

I am scheduled to fly out of PNS on Wednesday midday with 2 little girls and a cat. Think this storm will affect that departure?

Weather actually looks decent in Pensacola on Friday with decent North winds at 14mph. Keep an eye on the track of the storm but for now I think you're good. The other thing we need to watch is where the plane is coming from

Thank you. My husband is driving to California and I am on mom duty with the cat. Initially I thought I was getting the good end of the deal by flying but now the idea of being stranded with a cat and two kids in the airport sounds like I lost!

What airline are you booked on and where is your flight to out of Pensacola- Dallas, Houston, Charlotte, Atlanta, Denver, Orlando, or Chicago?

With a hurricane coming this close I'll agree

United going through Houston to SFO

I think the weather here will be fine for take off but I dont really understand what causes delays. If my flight originates in Orlando am I screwed? My girls are 7 and 10 and their cat can be an a-hole. I'm getting scared.

Hi Cuse. Thanks for starting this thread. My wife is schedule to fly out of Tampa on Tuesday afternoon and heading to Dallas for her layover and then home to California. American Airlines is the carrier. We’ve never had a problem flying so this is uncharted territory for us. Any updates and advice you can give is appreciated. Thanks!

Saw the waiver notification yesterday and to be honest, had not paid one second of attn to the storm till then. We don't fly out (MSY-TPA) until Wednesday night so not too worried but this thing wasn't on my radar at all

I suppose to be flying (AA) out out of Charleston around 4 PM Thursday. Latest track shows the storm well pass Charleston by that time. I wonder if I should keep what I got or change to fly out of Charlotte.

So far AA does not have a waiver but I'd expect one today. If possible, as soon as they post the waiver, is she able to leave Tampa this afternoon/evening?

I think you're good unless Tampa takes a hit and it takes a bit to recover. Flexibility to fly on Thursday instead?

So far no waivers on AA but they should be coming soon. If you're flying CHS-CLT anyway might just want to drop that first segment and leave from Charlotte. Need to see the track of the storm though and see what gets hit worse

If needed, yeah. We're flexible and could move to MCO as well since Orlando is the final destination but right now the only other options for an arrival airport are Tampa or Sarasota so if we need to move to Thursday and just stick with Tampa we can.

Arrival airport must be: Sarasota/Bradenton, FL - SRQ, Tampa, FL - TPA

Doubtful. She’s in meetings for the rest of the day barring some sort of evacuation alert given.

ETA: Wife just called and the Tampa airport is closing. She’s trying to find a flight out of Orlando that gets her to California. Preferably Fresno as the final destination but that will require at least one layover.

Hmm, wonder if southwest will get rid of that requirement. Wednesday isn't looking great for Tampa weather wise, they're under the hurricane warning for the next 36 hours with tropical storm winds 30-40mph anx gusts up to 60mph until Wednesday afternoon. I'd rebook for Thursday morning but that may just be me...

AA waiver is posted, get her out of there!

Tell her to check the app and try to rebook that way vs calling
