Wait it looks like there's room on the 645pm nonstop MSY-FLL Wednesday night, why not take that instead of the connection?

because I was an idiot and didnt see it when I made the change and by the time I noticed it (after the change) they want $275

Totally my fault for rushing through it too fast instead of being sure before I made the switch. I just didnt see it and had too many browsers open. 100% my fault

I'd call back when you feel like it and tell them you didn't realize there was a nonstop versus a 40 minute connection. They should be willing to budge

Flying MSY-MIA-MCO Thursday. Think I should be good.

Took a few more calls, tugging on the ole heart strings and "woe is me" approach but it worked...they got me on the 6:55pm direct flight at no extra cost

Club MSY back in effect

Honestly, the time wasn't as much of a concern as that short connect with my golf clubs coming along and the extra chance of lost or delayed baggage

Yeah I think there's still the usual thunderstorms on Thursday so might still have some delays

I knew they'd do it, you just have to put on your best babysitter voice as I call it . That 6:45pm flight comes from Houston so that should be fine tomorrow

Nahh, you at least knew to rebook early and took the time to look for alternatives. That's more than a lot of other people that would just wait until tomorrow, see their flight is cancelled, then have to rebook to Friday because everything is full other than the shitty flight options leaving at 5am or 10pm

Me and my wife are scheduled to fly out of MSY at 6am Thursday to Orlando. Is there anyway we get bumped for delayed flights on Wednesday or is that not a thing? We don't fly that often so I am not exactly sure of how that works.

Going to be a bit breezy still but should be fine.

No, the airlines would cancel the flights on Wednesday if they are unable to operate due to the weather, crew scheduling, maintenance, etc. Those people on the cancelled flights would get rebooked to other available flights which might be yours. Sometimes the airlines will oversell a flight which I could see happening this week after a storm. They will ask for volunteers and pay however much is needed to get someone to volunteer. It is very rare to see an involuntary denied boarding (IDB) as those must be reported to the DOT. If flying southwest I'd just make sure you checkin at 6am tomorrow or buy the early bird checkin.

Expect delays flying anywhere in Florida today. The Jacksonville FAA center has delays averaging 104 minutes to any flight crossing the JAX zone. Pretty much extends from the middle of the Gulf to over FL to the middle of the Atlantic. This includes flights to Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Orlando, West Palm, Daytona, Jacksonville

Glad we switched you to the nonstop, the MSY-AUS flight you were originally on is delayed a half hour. You'd only have 10 minutes in Austin to connect to that flight to Ft Lauderdale...
