Things got hairy for people to the east of the fires last night going towards DeRidder... Lots and lots of people tried to get in with equipment but were turned around and threatened to be arrested, some brave citizens cut through yards and neighborhoods and were able to cut enough trees and push enough dirt to spare several homes overnight.

frick whoever sent home the fire fighters. Thank God for the civilians who rallied together and got it done themselves.

Winds NW today DeRidder will have to be on guard hopefully they can continue to build enough fire lanes away from the town
