FSU - returns a ton of talent & good QB
Hilarious that you consider Travis a “good qb” but not Daniels.

Didn't A&M beat LSU last year?

I’m not sure I’d rank OSU and Michigan ahead of LSU today. Too many years of inflated hopes for OSU, and watching them flame out when they play SEC teams.

We can quibble about how good we think his model is, but this is the ranking it spit out. It's not, Oh I think Oregon and Texas are better than LSU, so let's put them above LSU. He specifically mentions how high the model has Oregon and Texas. He also points out several places where he disagrees based on his own opinion (i.e. TCU is too high for him).
My issue is he doesn’t explain the model, or if he has, I must have missed it.
Until he explains it, it’s no different than because MeeMaw said so.

Ok, I like it when we are disrespected.

But guys like Anthony Jennings, Brandon Harris, Jared Lee has a few great game/moments early in their careers.
You can’t possibly be comparing Klubnik to those guys…

Should have ZERO to do with a preseason ranking. If you want to project Clemson to have a better record than LSU because of that fact, that's fine. But don't label the list as preseason rankings. Label it as preseason projections.
I agree with this. I think it’s been said that this specifically isn’t preseason rankings or projections, rather some predetermined formula.

Last year's rankings are meaningless. What do you have this season is really at that matters.
Not necessarily. I’d rather a team that finished top 10 that returns 50% production than a team that finished I ranked but return 100% production.
I’m not going to nitpick each team and exactly where they should be ranked. All of those teams have things that they can point to as positives as well as things that are question marks. My point was that they are all in a similar group.

When did I ever say this?

No elite running back, inconsistent QB, makeshift secondary, unproven special teams... You really think LSU doesn't have any question marks?
Now do the same for bama

LSU dline better terrorize teams this year or the thin safety depth and lack of experience at CB will prevent this team from sniffing the playoffs.

Not just picking on the Pate State poll, but it is annoying how Utah can win back to back Pac-12 titles, have pretty much every bit the team they had last year returning, and still be picked third in their conference. Also, how many times has Texas been the highest pick out of the Big 12, and yet how many conference titles have they won? I'll tell you, they have won a whopping 3 Big 12 titles since its formation in 1996, the same amount as Baylor and Kansas State. As a matter of fact, Baylor has won three conference titles since Texas last won it in 2009.

#18 Wisconsin.
I'll have "States that begin with the letter W" for 1000
Alex.
Name a State that LSU Offensive Line Coach Brad Davis has never stepped foot In.
What would be Wisconsin.
Correct. Acceptable answers would also be Washington and Wyoming.

quote:Have to disagree with you there. I used to follow him. He has a great delivery and is very convincing. Unfortunately, he's not actually very accurate at all, and when he's wrong, he doesn't own his mistakes. He usually just ignores them or blames it on "the model," which of course is his model.
but Pate is one of the best there is.
He's a very likeable and entertaining guy. Based on past experience though, I just don't take any of his takes very seriously.

They were a missed field goal from beating Georgia. I wouldn't call that flaming out.
