I personally have not flown with Turkish Airlines , but I know many people who have and no one has had an issue with them.

It’s been about 6 years but I remember it being the smallest economy seats I’ve ever sat in on an international flight. Went from Houston to instanbul but it wasn’t the most comfortable.

Other than that everything was great.

Turkish is popular for Houston/Istanbul flight. Sometimes they code share with United. I prefer Turkish over United.
Usually a step above average international airline.

Plane seats are outdated though service is excellent.

Can’t do with 2-3-2 configuration in business class.

Sleeping literally right next to some fat dude not cool.

They recently announced a new business class seat that will obviously take awhile to be installed.

Would hate to be the middle seat in the 2-3-2, but thankfully, it is easy enough to avoid by not picking it.

I flew Turkish domestic back in 2009 and international RT in 2021. I'd have no reservations booking again.

However, be careful of IST connections. It's a long process because of the remote stands, bus ride to terminal, and the airport is huge.

The new biz class seats are on some of the routes already. Great hard product to go along with an always top notch soft product.

And to answer the OP’s question. I think Turkish is one of the best airlines in the world. Great service. Excellent food.

On the 777s? I don't think so, but would like to be wrong.

Flew Turkish in March from Istanbul to Miami.

The flight itself and the aircraft were fine. The crew was friendly.

I will say that the group of passengers was far and away the most obnoxious I’ve ever experienced. Not sure if it’s the Turks or just a cultural thing. Perhaps a random off day.

Children running about the plane. Climbing over and under the seats. After meals were provided, it was not uncommon for the passengers to simply throw the tray and remaining contents on the floor.

By time the aircraft landed in Miami; it looked as if a bomb had gone off. The place was absolutely trashed. Food, drinks, napkins, soiled diapers on the floor and aisles. The amount of debris on the floor actually made it almost impossible to use rolling luggage when exiting. I’ve never seen anything like it.

I've seen similar behavior on the connections to/from Asia in Frankfurt. The mess they created was wicked. I won't tell you their origination, but there are clearly castes that think others are born to clean up after them.

Take them, for sure. I know the flight numbers of the Houston/Istanbul flight, because if I'm going anywhere, I'm looking there first. They will get you cheaper to the other side of the world in Biz, even, than any other airline (not including 47 hour itineraries that cross multiple airline alliances, etc.) Northern Europe, I'll do UA/LH, but I'm doing Turkish for anything in Southern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Their food, even in coach, will make you question every plane you've ever been on in the past. Buy passes to the lounge in Istanbul, and layover there for a couple of hours on purpose before your connection. Indoor movie theaters, golf simulators, multiple stories, multiple ovens, chef stations, booze lockers, fresh honeycomb, etc. You won't eat for at least a day after that. You can schedule a 8+ hour connection and get a free tour of Istanbul from Turkish.

They will feed you drinks from start to finish, and don't shoot you dirty looks when you disturb their crossword exercises in between meals in the galley.

A good many of the women that work for Turkish as FAs are ... nearly Gal Godot clones. No boobs, but interesting levels of exotic.
