How much time do you see Nussmeier getting this season?

With the time he got in the UGA and Purdue game I can see him getting meaningful snaps over the course of the season depending on situation.
Not a situation where he takes over for Daniels and not a 2 QB system but definitely times when he can come in and contribute in some fashion.

UGA was due to Daniels injury and he did get first half snaps in Purdue game before it got out of hand. Daniels was sick during Ark game so maybe that would have been the type of game to get him more reps.

He’s going to be playing a lot of 4th quarters this year

Without injury it would only be in mop up duty if the coaches really believe Daniels is better. If Daniels struggles early I could see him getting more snaps to give Nuss a series here and there. I just don’t see value in that and only causes chaos.

He got playing time against UGA because JD was too hurt to play and against Purdue well because it was Purdue and they won by 100. He won't play unless they have a huge lead or JD gets hurts.

I will be downvoted but if Daniels struggles a lot in a few games, I would love to see Nuss. His game is quite different than Daniels' and would be hard for defenses to prepare for both QB styles.

I played college basketball and everyone has "off-games" where they struggle. And sometimes just to sit and watch for a series or two may be a good idea to reset.

Hopefully, he plays at least 1/2 a game against Grambling.

I think he'll sit at around 10-15% of total offensive snaps at the end of the season.

Came here to say this! I want to see Nuss take the majority of regular season 4th quarter snaps this year

Of course you would. This will be the theme of the in game thread against FSU by the third quarter.

Good point and question?

Nussmeier deserves some meaningful snaps for being a great teammate and for not transferring. These pressure snaps could pay huge dividends, if Daniels were to go down later in the season.

Miles did this with Perrilloux in 07 and it may have saved the Championship season.

But this is easier said than done, especially if it backfires a time or 2. Offensive flow is difficult to attain or maintain. Personnel disruptions and penalties can ruin the day. Unforced errors are difficult to deal with and can linger.
My guess is Nussmeier will play meaningful snaps and will play well as the Tigers prepare for a deep run.
I trust Kelly to get it right either way.

This - 1st think that popped in my head. Play him 2- 3 then let the freshman get on the field.

I'm not sunshine pumping JD5, but I think Nuss playing time decreases if JD5 starts putting up crazy numbers and gets in the Heisman race for real.
Then, Nuss will get fewer reps as they try to pad stats for that trophy.
Otherwise, I think BK will get Nuss lots of good snaps to build into next year

BK doesn’t strike me as a guy that’s gonna leave JD in games that are locked up just to pad stats for a possible Heisman campaign.

I’d love for him to get a few quarters in to keep him fresh for next season. JD is the starter and rightfully so. I trust BK to make the right decision when to sit JD for a breather or mental reset.

Earlier I went back and watched the highlights of the SECCG and Nuss was slinging it. I know we were in a nothing to lose game. Nuss is a stud and I’m happy with this qb room moving forward.
