having similar policies doesn't mean he is trying to be trump.
Desantis's policies are in almost all ways better because his strategy is the polar opposites of Trump's. He actually tries to get things accomplished with Legislation which was not Trump's strategy at all.
He has never tried to be Trump, because Trump actually has no core philosophy, he is a cult of personality.

Well we will have to disagree on the Republican part as Trump appeals to more independents than Ron and it is not because he appears to be the more "Republican" candidate that I can assure you.
And I agree that Desantis is the more conservative candidate thus looked at as the more far-right candidate. More than likely this is why his campaign is struggling.

IMO, the ticket will be Trump - Scott. Strong ticket compared to what the liberal, socialist party will offer.

There are way too many STUPID motherfrickers in the GOP walking around calling themselves Conservatives, but really aren’t- so many so that the Populist Trump is highly likely to win.
This should not be surprising to anyone. History shows us that Conservatives very rarely win the nomination, recently. These are the same STUPID fricks that nominated George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush, John McCain, and Mitt Romney.
As their choices for Senate and US Reps show us, they vote almost entirely based on name recognition.
They run around pretending to be Conservatives, but can’t define Conservatism and betray it at the ballot box…. because they’re fricking STUPID.
They vote almost entirely based on name recognition- and, most recently, emotion.
