The J6 trial will allow the extremely High IQ President Trump, who has been playing 14D chess on 8 multiple boards at the very same time he manages his business, re-election and on going bogus charges/trials, to call witnesses related to the election steal.
After all, it is the election steal that got us here!!
Calling Pelosi is probably just for a little more icing on the cake!!

The indictment specifically talks about Trump instigated people to disrupt the proceedings.

I believe the special counsel opened this door through his press conference when he announced the indictments. He went beyond the facts of the indictments and attempted to tie Trump's actions to the J6 Capital events. Can't imply his indictment is about x and then not allow the defense to argue against x.

After it became public on the afternoon of January 6 that the Vice President would not fraudulently alter the election results, a large and angry crowd - including many individuals whom the defendant deceived into believing the Vice President could and might change the election results - violently attacked the Capitol and halted proceeding.
so yes, the indictment specifically alleges that he used the riot as a "manner and means" to impair, obstruct and defeat the federal government.
