JJ or Lee ext year

Guys I know alot of you compare Lee to Stafford's freshman year but did Stafford have the WR's, O-Line, RB's and TE that Lee has? Lee has one of the best O-Lines in the nation, an awesome TE, good WR's and a great stable of running backs. The WR's havent played to their potential but they have lost faith in their QB and are probably aggrevated as hell with him.
I like JJ over JL (for the future of our program)and this is why.
1) Lee has consistantly made the same mistakes. Jefferson shows that he can adapt and learn. he dropped back and scanned the field. lee hasnt done tht all season w 2 years of learning compared to JJ 1 year.
2) JJ has all the physical tools Lee has but adds a run threat.
3) Shep complements JJ better than he does Lee. The run threat will always be there with both JJ and Shep however it doesnt with Lee and Shep.
4)The offensive players seem to have lost all faith in Lee and seem to like JJ more and fight harder with him in.
I know Lee had a great comeback against Auburn but Auburn proved to be a bust. Lee has a great arm but has never showed poise or decision making skills. He cant read defenses and forces to many things which lead to his pick 6's and INT.
Well I gave my cents for what its worth.
:beatdeadhorse: thats what I am doing but I just cant stand to hear Lee is our future. We are LSU and can do better!

Did Stafford have WR's with the hands and attitude issues between Byrd and Lafell?
Our WR's have dropped more balls than Ron Jeremy this year. Really liking what I see from Tolliver though.

JJ or Lee next year
Despite the poor play this season, I'm willing to wait and see and let both guys truly compete in the Spring for the position. The only way that was ever really going to be given a valid chance was if Miles started playing Jefferson some...so that he wouldn;t be in the exact same position Lee is this year. Namely, a RS Freshman with no game experience. Unfortunately, it took Lee being injured for that to happen.
That being said, I tend to lean to Jefferson. I liked the fact that he clearly threw the ball away a few times Saturday night (something Lee has rarely done, and we've seen the results), that he took sacks rather than throw it up for grabs when there were no other options (again, we've seen this happen too many time with Lee) and he clearly has the wheels to have a second dimension to his game...something Lee lacks. Given that both seem to have similar arms, I'd prefer to go with the superior athlete who, despite the fewer snaps, seems to make at least equally good descisions with the ball.
But I don't have a dog in this fight...but I do hope the position is up for grabs in the Spring.
FWIW, I don't think Russell Shepard will have any real impact on the QB position in 2009 other than the occasional roatation in to mix things up.

His wideouts were terrible and dropped more passes than ours do without question.

jefferson has more upside.
lee is one dimensional.

Someone would have to go back and watch all the tapes, but I'd be hard pressed to believe that they dropped more than the 2005 WR's did. It was as if Russell was throwing them bags full of dog shite on fire that year. Huge, game changing, drive killing drops.
But yeah...as badly as Lee has needed help, he hasn't gotten it in most cases.

Agree, and LaFell dropped about 100 of them. If I were a db playing LSU I'd just key on LaFell and get ready for my Pic 6. Heck that's exactly what they did and they got a half dozen of them.
He's a great WR, but not the only one we have. Teams like Ole Miss tried to take him away and we tried to press and go to him anyway. Dumb, Dumb, Dumb.
I like Lee and know he will mature and grow, but when he gets his mind made up to go to Brandon its over, he's going there even if the guy is triple covered, and he was a few times when he went to him. To me this is poor coaching.

dear lord, that was painful to watch.
funny thing is, those receivers went on to be first rounders!

It's really insane. And FWIW, Russell, as a JUNIOR would key in on Bowe just like Lee does with Lafell.
Somehow I don't see Lafell making a huge impact at the next level?

I think people are assigning way too much blame on Lee for locking on WRs. I made this same complaint last year against Flynn because he did it every game, all game long. We are lucky that our WRs are usually open. But, when they aren't, disaster strikes.
After complaining about Flynn doing it last year and then seeing Lee do it this year, I have come to this conclusion. Our OC, or whoever coaches our QBs, must teach this to our QBs. It may not be intentional, but it is more than a coincidence that a 5th year senior and a redshirt freshman do the exact same thing game after game with no variation.

Lee will be the qb. RS will come in and JJ will ride the pine.

I always see people talk about all the talent we have. I agree that we have some good players, but everyone just assumes our players are better than everyone elses. Maybe not? I mean UGA has been in the top 10 recruiting every year Richt has been there. Just because we don't know there names doesn't mean everyone else does not have ridiculous talent.

Neither. The Russel Shepard Show starts in 2009!!

i agree...i think he'll progress quite well into next season. If JJ or RS are starting for us next year, our offense will be far worse than it was this year.

prepare to be disappointed. you saw this year what happens when a freshman QB starts in the SEC.

in all seriousness where does shep fit into this?
a developing JJ/JLee and a 5* full of potential freshman coming in...where does everyone fit?
We're gunna have 3 good QBs.
