My neighbor is selling his 12 gauge super black eagle. It is about 20 years old. He has hardly used it in 20 years and recently had it cleaned. Does $800 seem like a fair price?

A new one is ~$1,800 w/ tax. If it’s in good condition it’s likely worth it.

I'd probably give that for it right now. I'd certainly give that to buy my original SBE from about 2000.

How old is it exactly?

If it is before 2001; then it’s worth a lot more. That’s the one you can float a shell.

He told me 20 years old. I’ll go look at it today and see if I can get anymore info.

I paid $1800 for a 12g Super Black Eagle II about 6 years ago and it's in mint condition. I wouldn't let it go for $800

Take this deal

See if it's an HK import, they tend to be worth a little more and you can float that 4th shell in it.

Mine is HK, passed on a used one at woods and waters and regret it. Nope, KSII is getting all of my shotguns. If I remember correctly mine was $1,080.00 at shooters but wife bought it off the guy for $800.00 unassembled in 96-97.

I bought one in 2005 because it was the only left handed semi-auto they made. I almost did t buy it because someone told me it wouldn’t shoot light loads. Glad I bought it because it’s been spitting out 7/8 oz since day one. Love that gun

Got mine around 02 or 03. I don't duck hunt (never had a chance), but I've shot skeet shoots quite a bit. My sbe is super smooth. Sure there are other guns available now, but the sbe works.

I have my dad's SBE that was bought to replace a fire damaged gun about 1998 when he was 81 years old. He only used maybe 3 to 5 duck hunts.

I have used it to Turkey hunt for a few years. I don't think this gun has been shot more than a box or so of shells. It shoots 220+ pellets in a 10" circle at 40 yards with #6 lead shot. I am not sure if I will hunt anymore, so I might sell it this next spring if I don't use it. I don't have any family member that hunts to pass it down to.

Gerald, I’d be interested if you decide to sell. Could always use another Sbe.
