Anyone else disappointed that Payton went for two?

I would have liked to see the Saints set the record for most points in a game with the extra point.

eh, it's not important
I can understand the logic because the extra point is worthless and I'm sure Payton wasn't concerned with (or didn't know about) the record.

nah, it was gravy...we were not gonna lose anyway and I'm sure he had no idea what the record even was

I was more disappointed in the decision based on the game. I'd rather make the Packers pull off 2 2pt conversions then take the chance of having them make just one.

seriously this is a big deal, i wonder why more people won't be mad at payton? our fanbase is soft and sucks, this wasn't one of Payton's better coached games.

Can't we just enjoy success??!??
We won by 22 points!

i get his logic of going for two. would i do it, no. but i get why he went for it(refer back to saints history of blowing huge leads).
but i'm more disappointed in his pass play from Moore. David made a heck of a int and then payton tries that and gives the ball back.

Well, I seriously doubt that Payton was standing on the sidelines with any clue whatsoever what our franchise record for points in a game is. He just did what he thought was the best thing at that moment, and there is nothing at all wrong with matching what the opponent had just done (TD and 2-pt conversion).

Care to elaborate Josh?

It was Haslett esque and idiotic. Also, the receiver pass wasn't necessary either. They hadn't stopped us in 7 straight drives and we had the ball inside the 30 with a chance to go up by 24. It could have been a momentum changer

Yes, but it's forgivable considering they didn't blow the lead.

did anyone think that maybe payton wanted Deuce to score the two point converstion so he could be the one to break two records in the game?

raises hand.
It was unecessary.

I just think its par for the course with Payton. He is a good coach, but a couple times a game he really just over thinks decisions and decides on the more complicated. It usually costs him to some degree.

i do think it was a bad call, but, our fans would only acknowledge it if it costs us the game

You missed the part where I said I was drunk last night when I posted that. Really, really drunk. Also, I haven't defended Maleveto in over a month.
