Best of luck ..... History of 50 yrs hunting tells me you are getting lucky with pellet placement. Had a good buddy shoot a deer with #4 buckshot at around 37 yards.... Hit the deer with 3 pellets.... Two was close to the backbone paralyzing the deers back legs. One went through the breadbasket.... Drove 5 miles to my house and when we got back to the deer it was still alive and had crawled about 20 yards from the spot he shot it..... Look hunt with what y'all want to hunt with but nobody can dispute the shock and stopping power of 00 buckshot

No matter the weapon or the load, it’s all about shot placement. Whatever setup you decide to hunt with, put in the time to sight in / pattern the loads. Be confident in what you’re using, where to aim, and know your distance limitations. I won’t take a shot with my shotgun that’s too far. Not worth potentially wounding a deer.
