Not a huge surprise considering his song Long Violent History is basically about George Floyd’s death. That’s been out for a few years now. Still like his early stuff but haven’t heard his newer music.

I could give two craps about the video, but the song is not his best.

It's crazy how liberal these "outlaw country" types are. Jason Isbell is probably to the left of AOC.

It's all a big lie for marketing. One of the OG "outlaw country" guys, Willie Nelson is as liberal as they come. The most outlaw thing Willie has done is smoke pot and maybe get a parking ticket.

There's only a few true outlaw country guys like Waylon Jennings and David Allen Coe. The rest just say they are to sell music.

I’m sure CMT and Bud Light will love this song. In fact, maybe Bud Light can sponsor this fig’s summer tour.

tyler's first official album had plenty of references about drugs and drinking. he's been sober for a few years now and seems like he's trying to move past those kind of lyrics.

another simpleton. CMT isn't ever going to play tyler childers songs. mainstream pop country radio won't touch him or sturgill etc.

Yep, "country" music is so patronizing.

Bunch of suburban rich kids pretending to identify with the common man.

so he loses the "WHITEHOUSE ROAD!" screamers from the crowd? not a big loss really.

So you don't think it's a big deal to lose the fans that made you popular?

I don't care what Tyler chooses to do artistically, but I always think it's stupid to alienate part of your fans. And I'm not talking about this video.

I recently heard that Tyler doesn't play White House road or Feathered Indians live anymore because he doesn't want to play his outlaw stuff. That's stupid, imo, because those are the songs that got him fans.

Nice burn dude. I’m sure we’ll see this song featured prominently on a Bud Light Sound of Freedom summer tour.

I think when an artist starts writing to placate to fans is when their art goes downhill.

a lot of people want the same song released over and over. then there are people that exist that support the artist and welcome a challenge to process. if that makes sense.

he doesn't play those songs live it seems anymore checking setlist.fm. I like both of those songs, but if he doesn't play them live, it's not really a big deal IMO. what's happening now is the same bro dudes that loved those songs and screamed every word at the live shows are feeling a bit abandoned by tyler childers and are resentful for it. but that's ok. they don't have to attend the shows. they'll be sold out with less annoying people.

I mean has anyone actually gone to a tyler childers show? there is a contingent of fishing shirt bros that are the most self unaware people that are extremely annoying and belligerently drunk and are always trying to start fights. if less of those people went to shows I don't think he'd mind

frick that dude.

I never liked his shite before, and after all of his BLM statements I really could care less about that motherfricker.

I don’t need someone from lilly white Appalachia telling me how to coexist with blacks when I’m from/live in a 70% black area.
