Granny is going to shoot Ol' Split Toe munching on her greens in her garden this winter.

Is that a yard fence and a bird house? Looks like you have some comfortable deer there.

That is really cool to see in your backyard. Not often that bucks like that hang around in yards. Where in Texas are you? I have always loved hunting South Texas, but they are getting too proud of those trophy bucks for me.

I’ve only killed 1 droptine buck in my life and of course it was broken off.Another guy in club had a picture of him before it broke off.

Have some friends that live on the golf course, when we go visit they get tired of me chasing all the bucks around with my phone. None around their house are tame enough to pet, but they’ll stare until you’re 20-30 yards away, even the mature bucks. When do they rut in that area?

Usually October, you really have to be careful. I was in my garage playing around and rattled . Two big bucks ran up so fast almost in the garage ! This is my last year to hunt in San Saba. Lots of deer but better bucks in my yard.

I might know them. I’ve lived here 20 years. I live on Highland Lakes course. Son just graduated LVHS.
