Anyone read the article about it in the daily reveille? It pretty much talked about the mixed feelings about it and how much of an increase the stadium has seen in piped in music. They spoke with Guy Gaster, the director of marketing for the athletic department.

"We play the music to help keep the atmosphere alive in the stadium.....The Tiger Band always takes priority when we are looking to keep the crowd involved..."

Somebody wrote a letter to the editor saying how "there is no respectable reason to switch to this absolutely terrible form of pumping up the crowd. The mystique of Death Valley is lost every time the band is pushed away for this terrible replacement"

Another student said, "No music piped in over the speakers will ever give me the chills like i get at the beginning of the fourth quarter when the band plays 'Pregame'"

Personally i do NOT like the piped in music at all. This is not professional football.

The piped in music sucks. I hate it. I see the logic in using it maybe for when the band is out of their seats on the way to the field in the latter half of the 2nd qtr - but I still hate it.

It would be a lot cooler if the band played while it walked down to the field.

Except for the fact that TGBFTL was trying to play OVER the shite at some point in the 3rd quarter on Saturday.

This reads like a guy not familiar with Tiger Stadium who has come in and is trying to mix things up. If it's a local, he needs a beating.

They need to pipe in some coaching plays. If you play the piped in music backwards it says....

LES stop Fu&King up......

While we're at it, can we kill the Frank Wicks glorification announcements during the actual playing of "pre-game" during pre-game. The drum intro is critical to the song. Why are we subjected to the deification of Frank during the music?????????????

it really sucks because everyone i was with just laughed every time Auburn did this shite early in the year, then i come home and we've started doing it.

Why don't they pipe in the appropriate cheer the band would play over the speakers while the band is setting up for halftime and at the start of the third quarter. That would be a nice alternative IMHO.

Personally, I think the piped in music cheapens things - a hell of a lot!

LINK to the article

I added a comment about not liking it. Maybe if they get enough negative respones they'll cut it out.

Every comment on there is a negative one!

didnt read responses. anyone who uses tradition as an excuse to not like it is stupid. lets go back to no pads and no forward pass. lets turn into baseball. lets get rid of instant replay. a lot of people are against it just to be against it.

the onyl viable excuse i see is the one where you may enjoy TGBFTL more and be worried that over time there may be a decrease in the band playing music. however if the band isnt playing music or planning to play music when the music is piped in i really dont see teh complaint. unless u just dont like pop/rap music. but stfu cuz maybe some people dont like the bands music.

a couple times when I like the piped in music

1: during some of the players warm ups.
2: Right before half when there is no band
3: Saturday when ole miss band starting playing late they cranked it up then it continuously got louder until we couldn't hear the ole miss band anymore. The TGBFTL started playing and the music stopped.

For me, one of the greatest things about college football is the atmosphere, part of that atmosphere, especially at LSU, is the GBFTL, from those 4 notes to Neck, to Livin On A Prayer to anything else they play. I mean someone told me, well Florida does it, we're not Florida, nor should we want to be, we should want to do what makes LSU football & gameday so awesome.

I REALLY hope that crap is gone next year.
