Bay Stealth Boats

I have a 2430 Bat stealth I bought in 2001. It IS NOT a wooden boat it was one of the first all composite boats. I really like mine it’s nothing fancy but it does what I want.

It is a heavy boat that gives it a better ride. It is a wet boat that is for sure I believe moats bay boats are.

You will never win a beauty contest or popularity contest but they were well built boats.

Just this weekend I was off shore snapper fishing and hitting rigs for trout and my boat handled all of them well.

I have a 2230, and it is all fiberglass, no wood.
It is heavy as stated, but is a great boat for trout/reds & inshore fishing.
Rides wet in a chop with the wind playing a part, but so does every bay boat.

Had a 18’ with115 HP Yamaha and later a 21’ BayStealth with a 175. Both boats were badass.

I put that 18 through some rough stuff. A dozen trips to Breton Island, offshore to weed lines 18-25 miles in late Jul/Aug out of Freeport, TX trolling for Mahi.

Great boat, no wood. Never had any issue with Bay Stealth boats.

I have a 2230 and get beat to hell in anything over 1 ft seas. That said, it is a solid boat otherwise, especially for the price they sold for

They aren’t perfect that’s for sure.

One design flaw is there is no way to put trim tabs on them due to hull design. I can’t tell you how often I’m running with 4-6 pirouges and 6-8 people and dying for a trim tab….
