France and Britain could not have launched a counteroffensive in the summer of 1918 without the two million fresh American soldiers who were now in the trenches of the Western Front. Tens of thousands more were arriving every day.

Russia could not have accomplished what they did on the Eastern Front without Britain remaining in the war after the fall of France in 1940 and the United States supplying the Russians with important necessities through Lend-Lease.

Yep they were both lucky enough to be on our side at those times. They would have lost if they were on other side of us.

Sorry you hate American Power

I love destroying ignorance. The war in the east was one of mobility and maneuver over vast distances. Without mobility, the Red Army loses. Now, what you were ignorant of:

1. TWO THIRDS of all Red Army trucks were US made.

2. The US alone made up ALL of the 1941-42 Soviet tank losses - which were catastrophic - THREE X over. How catastrophic? The Soviets lost 58% of all of their vehicles in that first year. It was suppressed by Soviet propaganda, but the elite Guards armor that led the advance into Berlin used Shermans, and considered them more survivable than the vaunted T-34. Statistics bear this out - crew survival rate when a T-34 was hit was less than 20%. Survival rates of late model Sherman crews were nearly 80%. A T-34 is danged hard to get in and out of.

3. The US shipped Russia over 15,000 aircraft, including the favorite mount of some of their top aces, the P-39/63 Airacobra.

4. The Soviets were famously incapable of refining high octane fuel for aircraft and much of the gear we shipped them. We gave them ALL of their high octane avgas during the war. Overall, we supplied them with 2.7 million tons of fuel, oil, and petroleum products.

5. In the first years of the war, the USSR was only able to produce 446 locomotives and 1000 rail cars. This is how tanks, troops, and artillery were moved long distances. The US supplied them 1,900 locomotives and over 11,000 rail cars.

6. The Red Army marched in US-made boots. We supplied them 15 million pairs for their 24 million man army.

I'm not even half done, but your cloud of ignorance should be burned away now. The Soviets didn't win jack without us. They would not have survived the war as a nation. US industry won WWII, period.

You are borderline retarded lol. The French and British were spent by early 1918. Russia had capitulated and the Germans were beginning to move nearly 1 million soldiers from the east to the western front. They had thrown everything they had at the Germans and could not break their lines. The Germans could not break the allies lines either but the Spring offensive of 1918 would have changed history had the US not been there to offset the new influx of German soldiers. As for the claim that Russia won WW2 is laughable, the ONLY reason they weren’t overrun by the Summer of 41’ was poor logistics by the Germans. The was only one power during WW2 that could muster two invasion forces simultaneously the size of the one invading Normandy thousands of miles apart was the US not Russia. They were also taking on two military powers on three separate continents not one enemy on one front who had to divide its forces. You do realize the Germans were fighting the British at the same time in Africa, at sea, and in the air? Not to mention having to cover for Italy’s screw ups. The US was virtually fighting the Japanese alone in the Pacific along with the Germans

If the French were on their own, the Germans would have captured Paris in September 1914. The British saved their arse.

In the Spring of 1917, following the disastrous Nevell Offensive, the French Army went into full blown mutiny. Had the British mot saved their arse yet again, France would have had to sue for peace.

Yes, France was on the winning side in WWI, but to say they won the war is laughable.

If not for Lind Lease, the Red Army would have collapsed no later than 1943. The Russians were very good at producing tanks, howitzers, and aircraft. And they had an almost bottomless supply of men. What they lacked was the ability to produce the myriad of things necessary to actually keep those tanks, planes, and men in the field fighting as a cohesive force. I am talking about things like trucks, tires, high-octane fuel, radios, boots, medical supplies, and most importantly enough food to feed the Red Army. Yes, the Soviets played a pivotal role in the Allied victory, the fact the overwhelming majority of the land casualties the Germans suffered in the war came on the Eastern Front is testament to this fact. But make no mistake, if not for massive aid from the West, not to mention keeping over three German army groups and the majority of the Luftwaffe’s fighter force tied up on the Western Front, the Soviet Union would have collapsed on its own, and that’s even after Stalingrad.

France and Britain took the brunt of fighting on the Western Front in WWI, this is true. Once Russia was out of the fight, American troops were vital to defending against the German Spring Offensive in 1918. American economic aid was also vital.

Russia most definitely bled Germany the most, but let's not get carried away with them completely. Stalin purged his officer corps and nearly caused the entire collapse of his armies by not pulling them back from the frontiers when it was obvious Germany was going to invade. Tens of millions of soldiers were killed or captured along with millions of civilians. America contributed significantly to their eventual turn around with massive shipments of food stuffs, steel rails, locomotives, rolling stock, and 4-wheel drive transport trucks.

America did the majority of the work in the Pacific while contributing significantly to the battle for the Atlantic, the Mediterranean theatre and eventually Western Europe. Don't know why you're underselling the contributions of the USA.
