I don't think soccer is that big of a deal down there either. They love Rugby, Aussie Rules football and even cricket but soccer is kind of meh. It's not like Europe or S. America. You don't see bros walking around in Messi jerseys or jackasses demanding the bartender change the channel to a replay of some irrelevant Italian pro soccer game that happened a month ago.

What does it matter for all the European countries. They have to fly to the host country regardless unless it’s in Europe.
South Africa isn’t convenient for anyone. They didn’t seem to have a problem with attendance, just vuvuzelas.
