Wanted to get a couple in case power goes out. Lowes and Home Depot did not have any. SO I'm going online. What do you recommend? Not worried about looks.

Best you can get.
Also look at the Dietz and Coleman brands.

Ooooook. I'd LIKE to stay under $100, not $323.

I've got a brand new, Coleman dual fuel lantern. I have no use for it. Pretty sure it's the 285 model with black plastic tote and carry case. I'm in Laffy if interested I'll make you a deal. Also have a NIB Ducane Fireflight II camping stove (dual burners) also never used. Purchased years ago for a camping trip with my son. He got mono days before and trip got cancelled.
Reply here if interested as I'll figure out a way to contact you
pic from ebay as I can send actual pics . I know chicken frowns upon this as I'm just trying to help a brother out

Thanks. Looking for something to use during power outages. Storms knocked out my power three times in last month and each time more than a day.

I use those glow sticks. Seriously, they work great for several hours.

Haze, it is often hot when the power goes out. the trouble with anything that uses a flame is that it makes your house even hotter. I would suggest something battery-powered. I would go to academy and get some of those little cheap, battery powered lanterns. They come with the battery already in them and they are less than $10 apiece. Throw them all away and replace them at the start of every hurricane season.

An alternative assuming you have cordless tools is get the LED flashlights that fit your batteries.
You can get a high-lumen one for you main room and just point it at the ceiling and especially if you have white ceilings they really do light up the room. Then one or two of the lower lumen ones to take with you going the bathroom etc.
They have third party very high-lumen versions for Dewalt (and probably most others) on Amazon/eBay for under $40 but I have not used them.
They won't last for days without recharging but you can also use them like a typical flashlight/worklight when you do have power.

I've got like 4 of these things they run off at 8 D cell batteries. They have 3 light modes, hi, lo and nightlight. t run time is fantastic. highly recommended. They also have plenty of LED powered versions from brands I don't recognize from China so I will stick with this one, probably also so made in China.

Tap lights from Amazon. Small and cheap enough to have one in every room.
