The website rentahitman.com might look legit. Among other things, it boasts a faux HIPPA notice for the "Hitman Information Privacy & Protection Act of 1964."

But the site is linked directly to the FBI's internet crime complaint center, authorities say, and a New Orleans woman who fell for it met up with an undercover agent at Waffle House and made a down payment to kill her romantic rival. She pleaded guilty Thursday to transmitting threats via interstate commerce and faces a long as five years in prison.

Court records say Zandra Ellis, now 34, submitted a "service request" to the website last summer, targeting a woman who had threatened her and her unborn child. Under the pseudonym Jasmine Brown, Ellis wrote, "I would like her dead since she is trying to kill me."

An undercover agent using the name "Ace" texted Ellis to confirm her interest in a hit man. When Ellis replied yes, the agent told her it would cost $1,000, according to court records.

They met July 6, 2022, at a Waffle House on Canal Street, where Ellis said that she and her intended target had children by the same man. Ellis provided a $100 down payment and, upon leaving the restaurant, was arrested.

If they are advertising I could see it that way.

Go on the website and hire a hit man and try the entrapment defense.

nothing

its the requesting of a hitman, confirming you want a hitman multiple times, and then actually making a down payment

I wonder what would happen if you went in there and requested a hitman to kill Trump? Get off with a warning?

ETA: this was a joke making fun of the FBI

She was fine until she gave them the $100 downpayment. That is what showed intent. Everything else even up to meeting the undercover cop would have been hard to get an eviction on alone. Once she paid the money, she was done.

There are a few Dateline episodes about people hiring hitmen. One with the prostitute from FL that tried to kill her husband and take his money and the other is about the two Houston Doctors wanting to kill their exes. They all could have gotten away with it possibly without money exchanging hands.

You should edit that post, dummy. The SS has shown up at people's doors for much less than what you just posted.
