I think Pitt was actually racing this past weekend. I haven’t watched Maverick but I would definitely watch this. Wonder if John C Reilly would return.

He did ‘Lions for Lambs’ and ‘American Made’ after the couch jumping/Matt Lauer stuff.
I’m a big fan of whatever he makes but I wouldn’t hate him throwing an Oscar-bait role in every few years. He should’ve won in 2000.

The part that really makes me happy in this is Tom Cruise saying frick no to a half assed streaming show based on his iconic roles. Glad to see an artist actually protect the integrity of his craft. Most (all?) streaming series spinoffs have been dogshit.

I don't know about you, officer, this is not distribution,. It's consumption

I've never been able to get into car racing movies other than Talladega Nights.

It's because it wasn't about Nascar. It was about a somewhat insecure hotshot talent who gets his confidence shaken and makes a comeback against the odds.
It's the exact same plotline as Top Gun and numerous other films. The medium of travel doesn't matter... It just needs to be dangerous and filled with testosterone and hot women trying to talk some sense into a young stallion.

If Tom Cruise is listening...there is only one sequel/spinoff
Honestly, this is the days of prequels, sequels and spin-offs.
I'd be down for "Riskier Businesses" and "All the Right Moves with a walking cane".
Riskier Business: Joel finds out that he has a Kid with Lana. Turns out the kid is one of his Finance executives making elicit films on the side at one of Joel's offices after-hours. Hilarity and drama follow.
All the Right Moves: Stef (twice divorced) career as an architect fails and he becomes a shitty high school coach. He's about to get fired until he calls Nickerson (who is an ESPN analyst) for some help. Lana's grandson, an undersized, slower weaker player, becomes a star two-way player with his God-father/coach's help. A great coming of old-age story in small-town Pennsylvania.

NASCAR is shitting their pants right now hoping this gets done. They are desperate for something to dip them out of the mud.

The entire France family would suck Toms cock

I'm cool with it. Besides, they can't do sequels to Six Pack or Stroker Ace at this point.

Days of Thunder is just Top Gun all over again, but with race cars and less gay
I already loved it as a kid. You don't have to keep trying to convince me.

I hope they don’t try to set it in modern day and instead put it in the late 90’s/early 2000’s gen 4 golden age of NASCAR era.
