Atlantic Coast Conference college football and basketball games are heading to The CW. The network announced today it has secured exclusive broadcast rights to 50 games each season through 2026-27. The CW acquired the rights from Raycom Sports who sublicenses the rights from ESPN.
The first ACC football game will air on The CW on Saturday, September 9 with a matchup between the Pitt Panthers and non-conference opponent Cincinnati Bearcats, with games airing every Saturday throughout the season in the afternoon and in primetime. In addition to 13 football games, The CW will broadcast 28 men’s basketball games and nine women’s basketball games.
These games will be featured in December, January and February with men’s basketball doubleheaders taking place every Saturday afternoon and women’s basketball games on Sunday afternoons. Raycom Sports will produce all games for The CW.

Nexstar isn’t fricking around trying to elevate CW up to CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox’s level.
I won’t be surprised if the get part of the PAC 12’s tv deal.

So every ACC school sold out their rights to the conference for the next 15 years, and the best they could get was the CW?
No wonder everyone is looking to flee that conference.

Instead of having random games on RSNs that are dying, they have found an OTA partner which gives them a little exposure on "free TV."
Yes, the ESPN contract (especially the length of it, of course) sucks for the ACC but this is a smart little move.
I wonder if this is a move by The CW that is intended to be in combination with some small PAC-12 deal that's been rumored as a possibility. If the PAC actually agrees to any media rights deal, that is.

Equally worthless programming

Not exactly. This package is the remains of Raycom’s inventory that has been airing on BallySports.
Getting off Bally onto an OTA is a big win no matter how you slice it. That’s a lot of content that will now be available nationwide that had been locked on a group of networks Sinclair is running into the ground.

They keep it up and maybe they could poach the three Daves to cover these games.
Only a joke because Dave Neal actually does games for ESPN. But he is a Florida State alumnus.

The CW Network also announced it will run repeats of the show Blue State Mountain in lieu of a pregame show before ACC Football games

No, and I think you know this. This is clearly not the tier 1 content.
