Well, when Alabama, Ole Miss, Miss St, Texas, etc offer the smartest and brightest Louisiana kids better academic scholarships than LSU, guess what you are left with?!?!

It is a cultural matter in Louisiana. Win football games and everyone is fine with crumbling asbestos academic buildings.

Pair that with the crime around to e campus and it is amazing that lsu does as well as it does.

And tops needs to be blown up and started from scratch.

Bama, Ole Miss , Ark and State have to offer big packages because they can't fill their classes with qualified students from pathetic public school systems.

Remove UTx from the list. They turn away 10s of thousands of quality Texas HS students every year.
They do not pursue any students from the deep south with scholarships and deals.

Bingo.
I know lots is the private school kids from the Nola tea who have ended up at Ole Miss and Bama for this reason.

And Texas and Texas A&M barely offer anything because they are getting thousands more outstanding applications than they can even think about accepting
