Looks like the extreme moderates will have a candidate, Joe Manchin.

Senator Joe Manchin is headed to New Hampshire next week for an event with No Labels as the group looks to run a third-party candidate in next year’s presidential election and frantic Democrats are trying to stop it out of fears it could siphon off votes from Joe Biden to hand Donald Trump a victory.

Manchin, a former honorary co-chair of the group, will be the headliner of the gathering along with former Republican Governor of Utah Jon Huntsman at the townhall meeting, which will take place Monday, July 17th, at Saint Anselm’s College in Manchester, No Labels told DailyMail.com.

Democrats have been spooked by the effort from No Labels, an organization that promotes centrist, bi-partisan policies and politics, to give Americans another option on the 2024 presidential ballot.

Manchin would take more votes from Trump via suburban Republican woman who hate mean tweets than he would from Biden.

Any centrist third party candidate is going to take from the GOP more than from the lockstep/urban/progressive voting bloc.

They'll make him some grand promised, hell agree to it and drop out and then he'll get nothing. We know how this works.

Manchin is a Dem. He’s not going to sink the Dems. If anything, he’ll try to siphon all the “moderates” and “independents” into voting for the Dems.

I would be okay with testing your theory.

My tongue was firmly in my cheek when I wrote that. I was also thinking of SFP when I wrote that. If there is such a thing as an extreme moderate SFP would be it.

Buy lighten up a little. I was not trying to prop up MAGA or Trump with term extreme moderate. It's a contradiction in terms and meant jokingly.

Maybe so, but Manchin aligns more closely with Trump than Thomas Sowell for example, yes or no?

You shouldn't. I don't know how or why you guys don't see the vulnerability in the voting population that Trump absolutely has to win in order to get to 270.

Housewives/white educated women in the suburban midwest and west are not going to vote for Donald Trump if there is a "moderate" candidate to chose instead.

These people left Trump for Biden in not insignificant numbers last election. Even if they have tired of Biden, giving them another non-Trump option is not good for the GOP.

On what issues?

Abortion, no.
Taxes, no.
Ukraine funding, no.
Trade, no.
Borders, no.
Regulation, no.
Judges, no.

Where are Manchin and Trump aligned?

I've predicted this for months.
This will destroy any chance for a Biden presidency, and, if Trump's the Republican choice, things could get extremely interesting!

I do see the vulnerability. Do you not see the vulnerability of the Democrat candidate? According to economists there is a 70% chance we will be in a deep recession within a year. No incumbent president has been reelected when a recession as occurred within 2 years prior to the election.

Maybe the suburban wine moms will vote Trump this time because they want cheaper wine and are no longer afraid of mean tweets.

On coal and the filibuster, yes.

On everything else, likely no.

Wrong, Jon.
Manchin will run as an independent THIRD party candidate.
Biden will be toast, and Trump could be in deep doo-doo, also.
