Swatch Flagship store on the Champs-Elysees not far from the Arc and close to where the Franklin D Roosevelt Metro station. I think there are a few Swatch boutiques in Paris, that is the big one. Both the Lyon and Cannes stores had more MoonSwatch inventory than the Paris Store.

Thanks for posting. I am watching this thread as I am Interested in both. Getting a sapphire back to a hesalite may be the answer. The movement looks amazing. Keep us posted, please.

Look closely at the sub dials and you can see that the hand on the chrono minutes subdial doesn't line up perfectly with the 60 minute hash. That's fine on a swatch, wouldn't float on a real speedy pro.

My Tag Heuer allows calibration of that to correct the sub-dials. Does the MoonSwatch not have that?

Just saw a sapphire back only and it’s $1850 on eBay, so no thanks.

I think it's more like half a second off and not a full second. Most ETA chronos allow that calibration

Yep, I never adopted this psychotic behavior. Simply because I didn't want it to drive me nuts

I think it comes from a fascination of the engineering it takes to make something that precise, and a desire to maximize the capability of it. That, and a tiny touch of autism

I was talking about the whole watch. IIRC the hesalite and sapphire cases are slightly different, so there's more to it than just swapping one back for another. There's a company that makes a caseback specifically for the hesalite but I don're remember tha name.

I'm new to this still so I appreciate the answers. Sis there a resource I can look at to find out what movement my watch uses? I can't find anything other than it's a "Swiss made quartz movement"

Primary watch or a small rotation then sandwich, a watch in a larger rotation then acrylic.

I have opened a number of watches with acrylic crystals and outside of quickly polishable micro-scratches I have only put a serious gouge in a Monaco. I have owned a 321 and 861 based Speedys in the past and really like the acrylic look. I have a Mk40 now but it is a completely different watch.

Pure aesthetics (and history) are a win for the acrylic because I like the edge-to-edge clearness without the "milky band".

There are good arguments for both but sapphire makes an awfully good case for daily wear or close to it but I personally prefer acrylic but honestly my answer 15 years ago would have been the opposite if the sapphire option was available.

Ended up with a cal. 3861 Speedy Moonwatch in the Hesalite version. Already took off the bracelet for the rest of the summer and put on the OEM gator strap w/ deployant clasp. I'll put the bracelet back on when it cools off a little.

Also added this Seiko SBDL085 (the JDM version of Prospex Speedtimer) for some fun. I had almost forgotten how much I hate sizing pin and collar bracelets, though to be fair sizing the bracelet on that Speedy Pro with the two tiny screws on either side of a pin isn't a whole lot better.

Great choice on the Hesalite!

The first Omega with that pin arrangement I adjusted freaked me out. I thought it was just a standard threaded pin, there is still one of those cap screws out in the wild. Even with my magnetic parts hunter I was never able to find it. Taught me to not do anything even simple at the kitchen counter.

Didn't do my homework, and made the same mistake. Saw the screw head, knew the bracelet had screws and didnt even look at the other side. Those tiny screws are a bitch to handle even with ine tipped forceps. Why can't they all be like Oyster bracelets??

Hacking was your sticking point? I've actually never heard of that being someone's "thing" before. We've all got one but that one is new for me.

It’s not a deal breaker for me, but hacking is my preference. Bonus points if the watch hacks and returns to 12 automatically

Hesalite. Doesn't work on many, if any, other watches but I've always bought my Speedy Pros with hesalite.

Back in my Cigarette boat days in south Fla, I was in a "meat market" along the Inter-coastal one day. The place had a free buffet, Some bikini was behind me in line, and remarked to her friend,"Have you ever seen some many Rolexs in one room?" I said to her," Those aren't the ones with the juice. it's the ones with no watch, who aren't a slave to time " She mused, "That's and interesting point'. As I reached for the tuna salad, she said,"Oh my God, you're not wearing a watch". Life was not so serious back then....
