Wife Birthday Recommendations in New Orleans

Hey guys - need a recommendation for the wife's birthday in New Orleans. She really really enjoys Italian and pasta but not so much Creole Italian. She also likes French food and Asian food. Definitely trying to find something upscale but maybe also cool and more hip than old school fancy. Any ideas? Thanks

You need to go to Paladar 511

Make reservations at Vincent's and take her somewhere cool and hip later.

So we are trying to find somewhere new and or new to us. We have been to Paladar 511 and we do like that place a lot as well as Josephine Estelle, San Lorenzo, Costera and Maypop. I did think of the new Costera place, Osteria Lupo or N7.

She doesn't really like that vibe for a birthday dinner. That's more my style haha.

Osteria Lupo is new and nice. (Recent thread on here). Not crazy upscale, but trendy.
Gianna is fairly new and Italian, CBD/Warehouse area.
AVO a little older, but the menu is legit.
Costera is Spanish, but will probably fit within her tastes.
Patois, Lillete, Gautreau's, La Petite Grocery, Bistro Daisy, Coquette are all similar (mostly) and uptown where it is a bit quieter.

N7. Quaint, romantic, but still “hip.” I think it’s a great date spot with good cocktails, wine and food.

You are on the right path because we have eaten at and really liked Costera(several times) and Avo.

Anyone here tried it and really enjoyed it?

Many times.
They are coming into their own.
For atmosphere I will say it is more active than Costera always seemed. Maybe the layout or something. It is a great space though.

Think I'm going to make a reservation here to at least reserve a spot and then can keep thinking on it.

Made the reservation there for now. Will keep thinking too. Seems like people are enjoying it more now than when it opened.

Saffron if Indian is acceptable. I think they do a really nice job there.

go to a fancy place for her B-Day but do not leave the city unless you go have lunch at Nor Joe's Imports on Old Metairie Rd just over the RR tracks. On Friday-Sunday they make Dalla Farma Cheese Wheel Pasta that will knock your socks off...its a lil informal place that also makes the best Muffaletta that you will eat! You will thank me later for sure!

Is there an awesome chef’s table in NOLA?
