Because that's what you do at every draft ever.
Manfred has done a lot of stupid shite as commissioner, but I will say that it was a stroke of genius to make the draft part of All Star weekend and make it more of a fan event.

That little weasel POS yanked the ASG from ATL because of “Jim Eagle” yet didn’t realize how much the move actually did more harm to minority-owned businesses. He also made an example out of Trevor Bauer because of a personal vendetta.

MLB should play a game in other places in order to attempt to grow the brand. Play one game a year kind of like they are doing with the Field of Dreams game. Play in Alaska (one game every few years or so, etc)
