“At first blush”, after you think it about you subscribe some bullshite justification, it’s okay? You can’t just say it’s horrible, you have to go through some mental gymnastics about the victim, and make a statement about gun violence. Would you prefer that the shooter used a knife or some other weapon?

No it isn’t.
Take out about 5 urban areas and it’s on par with Belgium.
If you really wanted to target this “wanton, gratuitous gun violence” you wouldn’t have to “cross the country”.
If I gave you a task to identify the “violence pandemic” in this country and I asked you to deliver 3 prime areas to target for reduction with cause and effect identified - what would you deliver?
