we returned a LOT more than UF did in 2007

we have played much more poorly than 2004 LSU did

we are insanely more talented than 2002 LSU

they are not comparable

I think we've played a lot worse than 04 LSU.

Agree on all but 2004. We are playing much worse than 2004.

We compare more to 2006 UGA. Who lost 4 regular season games with a freshman QB who made a lot of mistakes and went to the Peach Bowl. Which is probably where we'll end up.

2004 LSU had a close game with a better troy team. they weren't blown out for 3 quarters

2004 LSU had 1 blowout. we've had 2, along with a game where we got handled and made it close late (UGA)

I agree with you on that accord...it's just your original post makes it look like 2008 team hasn't played as bad as 2004's.

This Troy team is the same as the 2004 one, if not better. They are on their 3rd QB and look like they will STILL win the Sun Belt. Something the 2004 team couldn't do with their starter.

Not really like you think. We're pretty similar with results on the field and QB situation.

and QB situation.

RS Frosh is not True Frosh

they also had shite for WR that year. bailey was out and their #1 guy was a true freshman.

they had to COMPLETELY rebuild their OL. we didn't

face it... this program just isnt that good without help from others. last year, this team could have easily lost to auburn, florida, and bama. some good fortune and quite a bit of luck was on their side as most years, the hat's play calling would have been costly. lsu should not have even been in the nc game in 2007. really now... who loses their last regular season game, squeakes by in the sec championship, jumps a better team in georgia (who had not lost since october), and plays for the nc with two losses against a poor osu team??? truth is that most all the success over the past few years has been due largely to other teams i.e. bama, being down due to probation and coaching changes. prior to the arrival of saban, lsu had 7 losing seasons in 8 years and was most always an after thought and rarely a factor on the national scene. something tells me that those times arent too far away as history has a way of repeating itself.

Our WR situation this year hasn't been much better. I think they even dropped less balls than we did, and that's saying A LOT. And their leading WR was not a true freshman. MoMass was a sophomore and their actual leading receiver overall was TE Martrez Milner, a senior.

They returned 2 starters, so they didn't have to "completely rebuild" it.

lets be fair now. Every team regardless of record can point to two-three games that were very close and could've gone their way.

We won our share. I warned you guys last year and the year before Miles tended to play to the level of the competition in the SEC while people like Speedy told me I was full of it. This year our softness against SEC teams was exposed.
