I’ve umpired rec baseball In south lake charles for the past few years, rec baseball for the most part is bad here. You have a few players here and there that are decent/good, but they also play travel ball. My son is ten going on eleven and he plays “travel ball”. Odds are he won’t play college ball, hell living in SWLA he may not even play high school ball. He loves the game of baseball and is a good bit better than the majority of rec ball kids his age. As long as he wants to play “travel ball”, we will make sure he’s able to. Sometimes I wish he would tell me he doesn’t want to play anymore, but that kid loves the game of baseball! To each their own I guess. Great pro’s and con’s in this thread. Surprising for the OT!
