The governments of the US and UK are trusted by just about a third of their respective populations, placing them dead last among the G7 countries, according to a Gallup poll posted Monday. The US did worst among the G7, with just 31% of poll respondents saying they had confidence in their government in 2022.

Public trust has suffered dramatically in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, when US and UK leaders imposed economically devastating lockdowns that were subsequently found to have no scientific justification.

Even as confidence in the US government fell among Americans, outside approval was slipping too, with just 41% of global respondents approving of the Biden administration in 2022, a four-point drop over the previous year, Gallup found.

And that 31% likely represents one side of the aisle.

Took them many years, murders, wars and lies to achieve this. Kudos to our government.

Who would have thought that a government lying to its people every day year after year about literally everything from wars to science to race to gender to elections to climate to national security to spying to economics would have such a bad effect?

The answer to this problem obviously is more censorship.
