downtown chatt is really really chill. if you're moving there i would just plan some date nights to just stroll around the area near the CHOO CHOO and hit a few of the spots.
blue orleans isn't bad cajun in a pinch...
tailgate brewery is a fun place to have a couple drinks when you're out walking around.
alleia is decent italian but nothing spectacular.
yellow deli is a gorgeous lunch/garden place with an open dumbwaiter with a hand crank they raise & lower the food on. just try not to get inducted into the cult.
Yellow Deli 12 Tribes Cult
main street meats is a GREAT cozy place to get a steak with an insane whiskey menu. you should go here just to oogle their vast whiskey selection along the walls. they source all the meat locally and their own butcher in house so you can wrap some to go when you're done if you want.
also walk across the pedestrian bridge to the little artsy area and check out a few places there; some fun shopping too.
chatt is small but a decent dining scene.
eta the speakeasys are fun. try the one behind the bookcase at the kinley hotel across from the chattanooga choo choo (you might have to get reservations ahead of time) or the Unknown Caller behind the random phone booth.
Honey Seed has a fantastic $5 charcoal bloody mary and brunch on the weekends and its about a block away from the kinley.
looks AWFUL but its DELICOUS. thats a hard boiled egg on the skewer; not mozzarella
trust me on this one

Steak In a Sack from Ankar's Hoagies. The Lee Hwy location always seemed a little better than the others in town.

We stayed the night there on our way to the smokies. We had Champy's fried chicken for dinner, and I'll say it was some of the best fried chicken I ever had. That may be attributed to me being starving from driving all day.

Aretha Frankenstein's is a cool little spot for breakfast. I've always had good meals at Hennen's as well.

I’ll second previous listings like Boathouse and Main St. Meats. Don’t know what part of town you are moving to but on the Hixson/Harrison Bay side check Sidetrack (my new favorite and owned by same folks as Boathouse) and try Dockside Cafe out at Harrison Bay State Park. You get to watch people flail at pulling their boats out of the water while you eat.

For breakfast, I like the biscuits at Wally's on McCallie.

Thanks Weagle. Got my Dockside and Sidetrack switched! Gonna throw out Tremont Tavern for a burger and beer while I’m on here.
