JJ is a great hitting coach.

And Paul FAR exceeded Jay in defense. Skip exceeded both of them with pitching, with the exception on how he managed Ben.

BBCOR is NOT the same BBCOR. The balls are different as well. Make no mistake about that. These guys aren’t suddenly “better / stronger” point no further than Jones, Jones, Deichman, Mitchell, Big Country DJ,, and the many physically strong players with exceptional bat speed Paul had throughout his tenure. Crews, Beloso as well. It is the EQUIPMENT including bats.

Have not read thread. The bottom line is this.

PM = underachiever.
LM = underachiever.

I wish we would quit talking about them.

I don’t understand why y’all keep saying he mismanaged Ben. Ben has never said he was mismanaged by Skip. What Ben has said is the Orioles rushed him to the big leagues after the draft to sell more tickets. Ben still had a 9 year big league career. Not too shabby!

I dont think that’s fair to say. JJ doesn’t prioritize it when making a roster.

you’re not wrong? but this team had an OB% of .432. last year our Ob% was .404. The 2009 teams Ob% was .405. that’s with old bats that were still pretty lively.

the 21 team drew 244 walks.

jumped to 306 in 22 and 413 in 23.

and not to take away from Paul. he was a great coach, but we complained nonstop about Javi. Jay himself is a great hitting coach.
