Some random thoughts popping up after a few IPA's....

The erosion of skill at LSU. The talent is through the roof. Something seems to be not quite right from my perspective, there is a cause for concern. We have an erosion of capabilities at key positions with experience. I don't feel we are seeing high levels of production where we should be. Is there a real problem with the development of talent at LSU?

Charles Scott is an absolute man-child. He is a bruiser and has been the best back in the SEC. He has put yards up against anyone he's been asked to, just hand the man the ball.

Jarrett Lee is going to be a good quarterback for LSU. I am not ready to predict greatness, but I do know that he has a fantastic set of skills, a live arm, and unbelievable moxie. This kid has something about him that makes me excited to see where he goes from here. The QB position at LSU is by no means in dire straits.

Where are you defensive line? Would coaching changes really cause the vast drop off in production in the d line? Worries me. If we see similar things next year, I am officially concerned.

The defensive coordinator search...quite frankly I am not sold that Les is going to make a move. He needs to, IMO. Most important decision of his career to date.

Jai Eugene has had a good season, exceeded all expectations and improved greatly over his limited time last year. CB has been a stronger position than LB.

Rahim Alem is going to be First Team All-SEC and contend for AA honors next year. What a great surprise, the man can rush the edge. Wish we would see more of the "Express Package" on Saturday. LSU needs to get under Snead's skin and early, I can't think of a better way than throwing this look at him.

Patrick Peterson is the best looking freshman this decade at LSU.

I really want Randle in the 09 class and I will be extremely disappointed if Les can't reel him in. He is a must get. Take a second look at the DL and WR depth, it isn't proven and there are question marks down the chart.

LSU has a chance to have a signature win tomorrow. We haven't had one this year. A beat down against Nutt and the Rebs would go a long way to get some positive momentum going to close out the season a strong 9-3. This is an important game. These are the games that we win. We are LSU.

He's good, but I'd have to give Laron this distinction.

The sheer fact that LSU has had the kind of talent that you have think about it with a kid like Peterson...Landry, Clayton, etc

Lots of FR have made an impact since 2000.

LSU has had some major talent over the past 4 to 5 years. it's a program loaded with potential. If you look at results over the past 7 years talent at QB has been the major factor in results.

That being said, this years LSU team is not playing up to its potential. Not since Saban's first year has an LSU team so under-performed.

Richard Condon had a great point today. It is disconcerting to say the least.

LSU hasn't put a complete 4 quarter game together since Virginia Tech last year, and to a lesser extent the BCS CG and SECCG but we got down big in the BCS and played sloppy at first against Tennessee.

In 2001 and 2003 LSU put 6 games back to back of complete domination over very good SEC teams. Those were exceptional years. Even in a National Championship year, I don't think we played better than the way those teams performed at the end of the year. Not close.

IMO, LSU needs to go out and get the best D. Cor. money can buy. Get this turned around as quickly as possible, before the talent level drops off.

What about the two years after the championship in 2003? Saban stunk it up after he won the mnc. 9-4 rufkm?
