Could say a ton about this and how culpable the fear mongers are for irreparable damage they unnecessarily caused for political purposes, but instead I’ll say that the education system’s response to COVID 19 is when the average Joe finally realized that public education is not actually about the kids.

This. Public education is about the public educators. Covid made this loud and clear to anyone who was paying attention.
