Larson bomb
Would love to know the exit velocity on this bomb. Feeling something similar from one of our guys tonight.

110
PBP said it. Comes in at 92 goes out at 110. According to some they didn’t have radar guns tracking exit velo then but it sure seems that way with the issues that came out making them change the bats.
Regardless, the ball ended up on the freeway.
Rice had a pretty good hitter on that team named Lance Berkman who hit 40 or 41 that season.

The announcer said “comes in at 92, goes out at 110.” I feel like it would’ve been faster with trackman measuring the peak speed directly off the bat though.

Exactly. That thing left in a hurry. Beautiful sound those bats made.

LSU continued the home run barrage the next year. Then they had the 21-10 championship game. The NCAA shot itself in the foot because too many runs were scoring.

And was murdered by Bama only two weeks earlier.

He was just being funny. I don’t think they had that info available instantly

That was just an announcer quip. Mike Patrick doesn’t know the exit velo.
Funny to see Joe Morgan has always been an idiot. That clearly wasn’t a fastball

Anderson threw 100 with a whip. That was most likely his change up and Larson knew what to do with it.

LSU and Rice have such a good postseason history. Rice has gotten LSU quite a few times but LSU has owned them since 2008

Jesus they used to be a tough out when they had elite pitching in early 2000s.
ETA: three pitchers drafted in the top 8 in 2004.

Morgan was not an idiot! He was the best baseball color analyst in the business. If he got that wrong so be it but your an idiot.

My LSU tenure (96-00) had some shitty football but great baseball.
