I live in Memphis and former Ole Miss coach Billy Brewer was on one of the local sport shows yesterday. He says LSU cannot match up physically with OM either on defense or offense. That we are slower on off & def this year. He said the LSU game is the game of the year for them as we are their biggest rivalry. No one has to get them up for this game each year. They will try to get in Lee's face and hurry him. They want to make him beat them thru the air and will load up the box.

Might have barely had a winning record as coach.

Brewer was an outlaw, he got La Tech in trouble & helped to bury O.Miss. It's well known he hated LSU.

A lot depends on which Tiger team shows up: the one we saw v. Auburn, USC and second half Troy ... or the one we saw v. UF, UGA and first half Troy.

Did he get Ole Miss put on probation once or twice ?

Now that's just stupid. Ole Miss may very well win,but LSU can match up 'physically with anyone. Just ask Alabama.

'Dog' Brewer. What a tool.

He got us in lots and lots of trouble with the NCAA. Hated LSU is an understatement. He is the coach that on a run through Friday night walked to the center of the field and peed on the eye of the tiger. This year marks the 20th anniversary of it. No way to prove he actually did it but it is the story.

Just listened to the interview from start to finish. That is not what Brewer said. He said the teams match up really well on the O and D lines. He said the difference in this years LSU team and the teams of the past few years is the defense is not as fast as in years past. For the record Brewer does have a dislike of LSU, he played DB on Vaughts teams from 59-62 and was 2-2-1 against the tigers as a player. When he returned as coach in 1983-1993 his record was 68-55-3 as a coach going 4-6 against LSU during that period.

I would think this is an accurate assessment if the comparison is from LSU this year to LSU last year. We are noticably slower in certain key areas.

But there is no way we are slower than Ole Miss on off and def.
