There is no rules for officers - they fly by me all the time with no lights on. The other night 2 Tahoes flashed for truck to move out of passing lane and then proceed to go by at 100 mph with no lights or sirens on. They do it all the time. Rules for thee and not for me.

I was wondering what the rules were for pulling over a marked unit. Makes sense they could, but never have seen it. The City cop sure was an a-hole. He even used the obfuscation of "I'm going to work, what does it look like I'm doing". Last time I got pulled over for speeding, I should have said "I'm going to tractor supply, what does it look like I'm doing".

Not sure what the rules are when they're going to a call. I did a couple of ride alongs and there were a couple of times we got up to speed before turning on lights and sirens. Generally I'd think if you have to exhibit high speeds or drive erratically you'd need to hit the lights, but it seems like there are some situations where they sometimes don't.

I love it when a cop does 30 MPH over the speed limit to pull someone over that was doing 10 MPH over.

I passed one on 90 in Ocean Springs texting while driving. I now understand why everyone texts and drives around here.
