I'm curious, how did this become the LSU bar of the world series? I've heard it's 10-15 minutes cross town from the stadium.
Anybody know the history? I've never been to Omaha but when I look it up it looks like a cool spot.

I don't know the history, but BB is all in on LSU. Last time I was at the CWS, we arrived at BB minutes after the LSU team had been there.
I have been told by friends who go the CWS every year that the whole town is disappointed when LSU doesn't make it. I think it's related to the fact that LSU fans travel to Omaha better than any other school.

In 2009 after we won the natty the whole team was there. One of the parents had rented out the back room. CPM and Skip spoke to the crowd.

"The CWS is just better when you guys are here" was the theme of their comments.
Related to that I remember the time LSU was to play So Cal at the old Rosenblatt Stadium and the So Cal head coach, Ron Gillespie, tried to prepare his players before the game that night what to expect.
He told them, "Don't be intimidated. It's going to sound like an LSU home game. Half the people in the stands are from Louisiana and have been tail gaiting and drinking since early this morning and the other half are local people who were fed by LSU fans at a tail gait sometime today."

Never better, thanks for asking.
If you're being critical of the spelling of "tail gait" blame it on spellcheck.
I had it as one word and the spellcheck kept telling me the word was misspelled. So I put a space in it.
Spell check was happy then...

It was----when the CWS was held at Rosenblatt Stadium. Now, the stadium is in an area north of the interstate near the river a bit away from Barrett's. I'm not sure if the stadium is walking distance from Barrett's--I don't think it is.
