Here is a recap of what happened in Miami today.

Trump struggled to find new lawyers for his court appearance, which reflects another self-inflicted problem: Trump burns so many people that it is getting harder and harder to find competent types willing to work with or stick their necks out for him. That translates into the political problem of, for example, finding people to staff a presidential administration.

Melania Trump was also missing in action again. She did not go to court with Trump in New York, either. Fox News confused her with a different woman present with Trump today.

Instead of Melania, Kari Lake appeared on the scene after suggesting millions of armed people would protest Trump’s arraignment.

Miami city officials prepared for 5,000 to 50,000 protesters. In reality, nowhere near that number of people showed up, and many of those who did were transported there on busses sponsored by a Trump fundraiser that co-hosted a $100,000 per couple fundraising event featuring Ronna McDaniel in 2020.
