That place looks amazing. Not what I expected for downtown LA.

It’s not in downtown LA

It was also built away from the city, and the city grew up around it, I believe

Reminds me of Webb without trees so you can see the Baton Rouge skyline

I never hear anything about L.A. golf. I’m assuming there’s many country club courses in the greater LA area, huh?

Probably a 3 iron for most of them.

I was listening to one of the golf podcasts today, and it was really interesting hearing them talk about it.

Someone was saying other than the Playboy Mansion being on the course, LACC kind of goes out of its way to distance itself from Hollywood people. Also, there’s only like 5-6k general admission tickets per day or something like that? They were saying it probably would kind of suck to watch it in person because of how it’s roped off, terrain, etc., but should translate really well onto tv.

I’m pumped to watch prime time golf.

Complete side note, does anybody else get a kick out of going to the websites of some of these LACC type club websites and reading their policies on cell phones, dress code, etc? I’m fully on board with the country club atmosphere, but it’s always just interesting to see what their policies are.

LACC is the old, old money of the L.A. Pretty sure even someone like Rick Caruso can't get on the membership.

You say that, but amateur Stewart Hagestad (the dude that's been at the Masters the last few times) is a member there. Maybe his family have been members for a while or something, but I did read that he had membership.

The policies of some of the old south CCs would trigger the frick out of a whole lot of people

For instance, my parents’ club opened in the 50s and it was the only club, at the time, that would allow Jews. Sone clubs still have some really “non progressive” bylaws that have never changed with the times

Now a lot of the new super-exclusive clubs are the opposite. Play barefooted, music, and more.

Pretty sure Lochinvar CC in Houston is still men only if you can believe that. It is probably the hardest club in H-town to join or even get on. Most people don't even know it exists.

Tiger Wood's Bluejack Club in Magnolia is probably the most laid back club here and that is indeed the sell since everyone wants to play it. You can play bare foot. Blast music. It is in awesome shape all the time and it has cool things to do while playing like go to a candy store, eat some damn fine brisket, and obviously drink like a fish if you want. It is more like a tourist attraction than a golf club.

I've been fortunate enough to play Bluejack and Lochinvar. Give me Lochinvar all day long. BJ was cool don't get me wrong, but Lochinvar was next level.

Can't wait to watch these guys play LACC. Looks amazing.

I have been to BelAir CC. If you have a hat on inside someone from staff will quietly come from behind and whisper you hat sir.

Eddie Marion's "The Little Pro" played at LSU. Met his son and he went to LSU and as he puts it partied to much.
