Weed eater won’t work after maintenance

My Husqvarna weed eater was giving me trouble. Figured I’ve had it for a while, so it’s time to do some maintenance. New carburetor, new gasket, new fuel lines, air filter, fuel filter and spark plug. I can get it to kick over on a half choke, but it’s a rough sounding half choke. Won’t run when fully opened. I went back through my new parts, and everything is where the should be. I’m not sure what the problem is.

I’ve come to the conclusion that when those things start giving trouble you may as well toss them.

I would probably put the old carb back on and see what happens.

Time for a new maintenance guy
Jk. Did you use oem parts or crap off Amazon? I’ve never been able to get an aftermarket carb to work worth a crap.

Make sure you have the fuel lines going to the right nipple on carb. Easy to swap the vent and fuel supply lines. Also, did you use OEM husky parts?

Can't help you, my 60V greenworks doesn't have a carb.

What do you mean by rough sounding? Carbs are adjustable, if it sounds better with half a choke it sounds like you need to adjust your carb to me. It may be adjusted to lean/ not enough fuel?

I ordered parts off of Amazon. Thought it would work. Guess I could try parts straight from Husqvarna. May try adjusting the carburetor first.

Put your old carb back on, in that case.

Zero time spent on maintenance, zero purchasing, storing, or messing with gas/oil, zero parts changes, zero dollars spent on battery replacements. Just straight up eating weeds and cleaning off said weeds. It has cost me a grand total of about $3.50 in electricity (that's 56 volts X 2 ah X ~40 uses/yr X 5 years X 15 cents/kwh).

Looking forward to being called a pussy for simplifying my life and working more efficiently.

If you really hate yourself and enjoy misery then give it a go. I mean that in the nicest possible way. My blood pressure is already going up just thinking about how many wrench’s were thrown chasing issues with those parts.

EGO 54V here
had a big ole pecan limb come down last night and grabbed the EGO chainsaw that I hadn’t used since Ida. Charged the battery and got to chopping
never ever going back to gas tools again

Electric yard tools have their place, but in this case it's not being helpful.....

Why not? OP has to buy more shite anyway. Might as well buy something that just works without having to baby it and continually put time and money into it.

This is what I do.

Two reasons:
1) I don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on a new weed eater right now.
2) I don’t trust the longevity of batteries.

Well we all value our time differently I guess. Personally if I'm looking at spending time and money on an old gas trimmer, I'd probably take a long hard look at a $200 Ego trimmer+battery+charger that I know I won't have to spend a second of time or a single dollar on maintenance for at least 3 years and probably much longer.

I don't know if OP has a postage stamp lot, or an estate, but for many of us electric weedeaters/mowers simply do not have enough power to do our yards. They have their place, but stop pushing them like they are the solution to everyone's problems.

Pretty much where I stand. I have a pretty sizable yard with a lot of growth I need to clear out. I can’t play around with an electric weed eater that can’t handle at least some moderate work.

I paid less than $20 for the replacement parts. I’m troubleshooting a problem. I would rather figure this out and learn a little about small engine repairs before I spend money. Money is tight for a lot of people right now.
