Not just any country will take you. Learn to speak Norwegian or you can't go there.
Not in Svalbard
They are exempt from Norwegian immigration regulations though it might be a bit cold and dark for many

Try pricing houses in Islamorada, Marathon, or Tavernier and get back to me.

Other potential destinations include Thailand, Indonesia, Belize, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras, and Colombia.
Belize would be my pick out of these. I spend a good bit of time in Colombia and it would have been my preference before Petro got elected. Between him and Maduro in Venezuela, they have Commie-fricked what should have been the golden age for those two countries.

Duerte has been replace with Marco son he seems to be pro ww3. So that's great for business but bad for peaceful living, Japan ran threw Palawan like they was Derrick Henry.
I've been to Mindanao, as long as you mind your business and keep to yourself be just fine. They don't have any black people so not much crime.

Wherever I go, I plan to always treat it as temporary. I'm not going to want a wife, would rent instead of buying, and wouldn't own anything that I wouldn't be willing to just walk away from if things started looking sketchy. I'd make it to where a communist dictator wouldn't really have anything to confiscate from me.

Maybe at a 5-star resort or high-end tourist bar. My bet is that you can probably pick up a case of local stuff at the store for well under $10.

My wife shows me pictures of Palawan at least 3 times a week. It’s on her bucket list and the pictures are breathtaking. The water clarity looks amazing.

Honduras,
You really have to qualify that statement. Roatan is only Honduran by formality, and is fine. San Pedro Sula and Tegucigalpa are farked beyond belief with crime and corruption.

That's where I was referring to. Every country, particularly in Latin America, is going to have nice areas and hyper-violent shitholes. I'd probably go where the rest of the expats are.

I have a coworker that's a high-ranking enlisted Army reservist who has to go there on occasion for work. He says that an older somewhat chubby American could be absolutely swimming in 8-10 hotties if he were so inclined. He showed me pics of randos that he took on the street and they were all model quality.

There's supposed to be a huge expat community, mostly British, in Malaga.

You definitely need to brush up on your current events. Even if I couldn't, I'm married and she can buy anything I want.
We can buy and invest in the Philippines.

There's a difference between Ukrainians working in Poland being willing to "talk" and Polish women. Ukrainian women in Poland aren't nearly as status/watch/shoe obsessed as the Poles are. I am not buying a watch that costs more than $500, so I'm out.
You should also be aware that it seems like 80% of dudes under the age of 40 are training MMA, BJJ, and lifting. Your competition is swarthy tough dudes, and your only advantage is your citizenship.

Might be other options, without pulling up and dragging the family to very different environments.
Is Costa Rica immune to the influence of the cartels.
What effects long term will Costa Rica undergo when that Chinese Communist Canal north of them is completed through Nicaragua.
About "carving out our own spots."
Not like it isn't being done already.
Are we inching ever closer to a nouveau medievalism in this country where people of similar likenesses and psyches form their own enclaves for not only safety reasons but also because they consider proximity to some others particularly stressful.
It started innocently enough with the gated communities, then the mechanized armed patrols in the subdivisions, and the separatist compounds in the Northwest.
Were they just ahead of their time and harbingers of what is eventually unavoidable.
Done predominantly for safety reasons.
