My point is you posted a poll documenting DeSantis so hopelessly trailing Trump in VA that the pollsters did not even bother to compare him to Biden. Yet your OP insinuates Trump alternatives (the only one being DeSantis) might be a better choice based on this poll.
My point is that same poll documents Glenn Youngin would be in trouble if he faced election in VA today, yet you insinuate its Biden-Trump poll differential in VA vs Youngin's Nov 2021 2% win has something to do with the national race.

If Trump can't win in 2024, then Ron DeSantis can't win in 2024.
And that goes for anyone in the Republican field.
There are two types of folks pushing this argument.
1. People who are Groomers and want Joe Biden's Pedophilia to continue to infect America.
2. Weak arse men who are offended by another Alpha male to the point they are considering becoming trans.
In conclusion, people that are voting for the kid diddler anyway.

Virginia has been overrun by liberals. Washington DC area skews all elections. Even Richmond has turned into a woke dumster fire. the only conservative part of the state is the southwest and there is low population there.

Consider the amount of federal employees in NOVA. They are going to naturally vote democratic and will always vote against conservatives. It is in their best interest to vote for more federal spending, not cut it.
