Heading out tomorrow to surf fish Grand Isle and Elmer's Island. Got the paddle tail cocahoes and sparkle beetles. What are the recommendations for colors and any other baits to try? Thanks for the responses...

Caught some near GI last weekend on Mega matrix magneto, also caught a big mackerel and a cobia on the same color. Just my opinion that if the fish are there the color isn't terribly important.

White ford pickups have worked well in the past.

How did you do?
We got skunked with live shrimp last weekend.
Hope you did better than we did.

Yesterday fished the washout from the yak. 22 trout all 16to 19inches. Only a few throw backs. All on live minnows Carolina rigged. Started out fishing a tandem rig matrix shad setup and with lemon head and a glow trailing. Caught 10 on that but all just 11”. Lots of catfish on the minnows also. Plus 2 reds just under 29” and a giant skate

Also bite was soft. They were barely taking it
