Fimco Sprayer Problem

I have a 25 gallon boomless sprayer with the 4.5 gallon, 12v pump. If I’m spraying with the wand it will build and maintain pressure at around 40 psi fine. When I switch over to the boom it’ll max out at around 20 psi. This isn’t enough pressure to create a spray and instead is a weak stream. I’ve checked connections and filters. Can’t find any problems. Any ideas?

Pump head problem, SureFlo pump? Diaphram or valves could be leaking enough internally to not flow enough to build the pressure you need. Not difficult to service yourself.

4.5 gpm is a huge pump for a 25 Gal sprayer.
You said it was boomless, but then said you switch over to the boom? Do you have too many/too large nozzles for the pump? The higher flow rate you need, the lower pressure you will see. Have you tried it with maybe half the boom to see if it works that way?

I have a 40 AG Sprayer on a trailer with the same fimco boomless spray bar. Mine would not build pressure so I started looking and the pressure adjustment leaver on the pressure regulator was stripped and not opening and closing the valve. I used some epoxy on it to finish spraying last week and have a new pressure regulator coming this week it was like $12.
